Kindle eBook Reader

More and more people are nowadays turning over to ebook readers for their daily reading tasks. The advantage of using the same is manifold. The primary advantage is portability since one can take their ebook reader along with them and read it wherever they want.

Apart from this, the costs of subscribing to digital versions of books, magazines, and newspapers is less and compared to the printed version. People know that they are also contributing to the world’s ecology by using the ebook reader and this is another factor that is increasing the sale of these digital book readers.

The biggest advantage is the capability of the ebook reader to store the equivalent of 1000 printed books. Of the different types of such readers available in the market, the Kindle ebook reader is the most popular. With the amazing facilities that the Kindle ebook reader possesses, it is not surprising to see it at the top of the list of different readers.

The first generation of the Kindle book reader had made a huge impact among consumers and with the second generation, Amazon has upped the ante.

The 1st generation Kindle ebook reader was a revolution that provided minimum eyestrain to its readers thanks to its electronic ink display technology, weighed 0.29 kg, boasted of a screen that could be read in direct sunlight and also boasted of a plethora of other features like long battery life, ability to highlight passages and take notes, and searching words on the fly.

All these features have been retained by its successor, the Kindle 2 along with various enhancements, the best being the slim factor. This new Kindle ebook reader is slimmer than its predecessor but there is hardly any noticeable change in weight.

The screen resolution is also 600 x 800 which is the same as its forerunner. The difference makes itself felt when you use the new Kindle ebook reader. It now offers 16 shades of gray as compared to 4 on the older version. The screen technology has been improved which leads to sharper and clearer text.

The reason for these enhancements on the new Kindle ebook reader is because of the new electronic ink technology it employs. Another noticeable change that one can observe on the new Kindle ebook reader is its background. The older version of the Kindle ebook reader had a background that had a texture like that of a newspaper.

The background of the new Kindle ebook reader is smooth. There have been some major changes on the keyboard of the new Kindle ebook with a bigger space bar and circular keys. This helps make the keyboard easier to use.

The location of the home has also been improved with it being prominently displayed on the side of the new Kindle ebook reader. With the older version of the Kindle ebook reader the home button was at the bottom of the keyboard. With so many facilities the Kindle ebook reader is a must for those who want to read on the go.
